Research "Backs" Chiropractic |
|
Research shows 94% of all spinal manipulation is performed by Doctors of Chiropractic.
The Rand Study was conducted by a U.S. private research group in 1991 and concluded that spinal manipulation is appropriate for all patients with any category of back pain.
The Manga Report, sponsored by the Canadian Government in 1993 found chiropractic manipulation is superior to other treatments for most acute and chronic back pains in terms of effectiveness, cost, and patient physical satisfaction.
The U.S. Agency for Health Policy & Research, in 1994, found spinal manipulation appropriate as a "first line" approach for treatment of most acute low-back pains. This report discourages surgery if healing is possible through Chiropractic care. |

Understanding Your Spine
The cushioning cartilage discs between each of your vertebrae are mainly water in content. With each passing birthday, they dehydrate and become thinner. That's why the space between each vertebrae lessens.
I hate to break it to you, but your spine actually started to deteriorate at about the age of 15! That's without an accident, fall or trauma to the spine!
In time, everyday wear and rear, accidents and tension place additional stress on your back. As you get older, your discs wears out even faster. The vertebrae creeps closer together and reduce your joint motions. A weakened disc can cause disc ruptures or tears. The inner part of your disc can leak out, causing pressure on nearby nerves.
This nerve interferences can block or create distorted messages to the brain which can eventually trigger muscle spasms, pain and a number of uncomfortable symptoms. Chiropractic care soothes the pain, inflammation and swelling associated with nerve interference.
Since back problems usually involve structural abnormalities of the vertebrae, your nerves and soft tissue (including tendons, ligaments, muscle, cartilage), chiropractic is a sensible, natural way to seek pain relief. After all, we are your neuro-musculo-skeletal experts!
